Most community newspapers are published weekly others are either published on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Most are run by owner operator individuals and they rely on advertising as a means of income. Some have subscription based readership, in addition to their retail circulation. Most publishers rely heavily on contributing writers while some publishers have paid reporters and editors.
Magazines
Mainly focused on national and international issues and circulated in many states. They typically have bigger budgets and larger staffs. Magazines are fewer in number than newspapers. Their circulation range from 10,000 to 60,000 copies.
Directories
Directories are a popular medium for local businesses and tend to be successfully operated. A majority of directories are local but there are a few national directories attempting to serve the Arabs or Muslims at large.
Directories normally serve as a resource for new comers and people who are looking to find businesses who can fulfil special needs such as language or cultural and religious accommodations. Directories are also a good source of information that reflect the size and affluence of any particular community.
Radio
There are few radio stations that serve Arabic speaking or Muslim listeners. Usually, in cities with large concentrations are limited to one or two hours a week. However, there is a growing network of Internet radio that is attracting music listeners with little programming.
TV
Since the outbreak of Satellite TV many local TV broadcastings diminished to be replaced with large network stations such as Aljazeera. There is one cable based national station that targets the Muslim community and it is still building its base of viewers. Otherwise, there are few individual efforts to produce a few hours of TV programs a week on air or on the Internet
